Report Provides Frank Data on Black PhD Holders in STEM Fields (opens new window)
Over the past year, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and RTI International have engaged in a study of Black and Hispanic individuals who have achieved PhD degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields. Only 3.8% of people who earned these doctoral degrees from 2010–20 were Black Americans. The debt load of those who did is disproportionately high. Read more (opens new window)
What to know about severe Bipolar Disorder (opens new window)
Bipolar disorder (BD) is a mental health condition that can lead to substantial shifts in an individual’s mood, energy, and concentration levels. A person with BD may experience shifts between manic episodes, during which they feel “high” and energized, and depressive episodes of feeling sad, hopeless, and worthless.
