ANA Minority Fellowship Program Doctoral

The American Nurses Association’s Minority Fellowship Program (ANA MFP) Doctoral Program supports behavioral health nurses enrolled full-time in accredited doctoral programs (PhD or DNP) in psychiatric mental health and/or substance misuse care. The fellowship provides financial support, mentorship, and leadership development to strengthen advanced preparation in behavioral health.

Doctoral Fellows participate in a structured program that includes mentorship from experienced nurse leaders, professional development activities, and the Summer Intensive Training Institute (ITI). The program equips nurses to lead across research, clinical practice, education, and policy, with a focus on improving access to care in communities with significant unmet needs.

The ANA MFP is supported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

The American Nurses Association’s Minority Fellowship Program (ANA MFP) Master’s Program supports registered nurses enrolled full-time in accredited master’s programs in psychiatric mental health and/or substance misuse care. The fellowship provides financial support, mentorship, and leadership development to strengthen preparation for careers in behavioral health.

Fellows participate in a structured program that includes mentorship from experienced nurse leaders, professional development activities, and the Summer Intensive Training Institute (ITI). The program equips nurses with the skills needed to deliver and lead behavioral health care across the lifespan, particularly in communities with significant unmet needs.

The ANA MFP is supported by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
