Karen Rigsby, BSN, RN, has been a nurse since 1991. For twenty-six years she has taken care of patients across the life span. For twenty years, she has concentrated on working with the mentally ill and those who abuse substances.
She graduated as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1991, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville University in 2014 and is now working on a Master of Science degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Her goal as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is to help eliminate the fear of caring for the mentally ill and those with substance abuse issues. Working with the children and adolescent age groups will help to ensure that they will have a more positive quality of life as adults.
