Christina Wei, PhD, APRN, PMHNP-BC, graduated with her PhD in Clinical Nursing Research in 2009 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). In 2010, Dr. Wei also completed a post-master’s certificate in nursing and received board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA).
During her undergraduate nursing at UTHSCSA, Dr. Wei was selected as one of the school's first Research Scholars whereby the foundation was laid for her current research focus in abuse detection and prevention. Additionally, she was selected as one of two students in a student body of over 600 Nursing students to represent the School of Nursing as a UTHSCSA Presidential Ambassador. Student Ambassadors are called upon to interact with a variety of dignitaries who visit the UTHSCSA.
Dr. Wei was a Research Nurse I at the Center for Violence Prevention and has demonstrated her skills in this arena by serving as a panel member at an international conference: Victimization of Children and Youth: an International Research Conference and having an abstract accepted at the National Conference on Health Care and Domestic Violence. Dr. Wei is currently the Director of Alamo Elite Wellness in San Antonio, Texas.
Her Professional Associations include membership in the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, and the Southern Nursing Research Society.
