Each week a quote is shared for your consideration. Some quotes might offer comfort, hope, a challenge, a chuckle, or inspiration. You may or may not agree with the quote, but it is offered simply to help you reflect and ponder.
It takes a thousand voices to tell a single story.

“Does anybody know anything about taking care of American Indians?” – Margaret P. Moss PhD, JD, RN, FAAN.
As we continue marking Native American Heritage Month, this question posed by Native American nurse scientist/lawyer Dr. Moss resounds with urgency.
Nurses, through no fault of their own, don't know any of that. I mean, they just don't teach it. They don't teach these barriers, these structural and political barriers to health for American Indians. You don’t learn it in health professions, but also you didn't learn it K through 12… By design, American Indians were cut out of all... You don't see them on CNN. You don't see them in your books. You don't see them anywhere. And so then how can you possibly know how to take care of them?. View the complete talk by Dr. Moss (opens new window)
