Congratulations to SAMHSA MFP/ANA alumna Dr. Shaquita Starks who recently received a $2.6 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for a community-based mental health and substance use disorder treatment program. Dr. Starks is an assistant professor at Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University.

Congratulations to SAMHSA MFP/ANA alumnus Dr. John Lowe who was recently elected to serve on the Board of Directors at the American Academy of Nursing (AAN). It is believed that Dr. Lowe is the first Native American Nurse to serve on AAN’s Board of Directors. Dr. Lowe holds the Joseph H. Blade’s Centennial Memorial Professorship in Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. View more (opens new window)
