Margaret Kamara, MSN, MBA-HCM, RN, graduated as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program at Walden University with a graduation of May, 2020. She has worked in various inpatient and outpatient clinical settings that range from small community clinics to large military medical facilities. Currently she is working with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and with the Department of Developmental Services group homes.

Her work with health care professionals in a military environment, energized her passion for caring for war-wounded service members and their families which inspired her to join the Army Nurse Corp as a reservist. Working alongside military personnel, civilians, and contractors has helped her to understand that furthering her nursing education as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner allow her to initiate and manage patients' treatment plans while allowing her to make a difference in the United States and her birth country (Sierra Leone) as a nurse practitioner.

She plans to cultivate the skills she will acquire as a PMHNP and use them in practice together with different commands within the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense and the country of Sierra Leone.
