Michelle Hampton, PhD, RN, MS 
 was awarded the 2008 National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Nursing Research, HIV/AIDS Nursing Care and Prevention Training Post-doctoral Fellowship.

Dr. Hampton recently presented, along with L. Chafetz and M.C. White on the topic of “Predictors of Emergency, Inpatient, and Residential Services among African Americans and Whites with Severe Mental Illness” during the 10th Annual Conference of the International Society of Psychiatric Nurses, April 9- 12, in Louisville, KY.

Michelle Decoux Hampton, PhD, RN, MS has recently published an article, “The role of treatment setting and high acuity in the over diagnosis of schizophrenia in African Americans” was featured in Archives of Psychiatric Nursing, 21 (6), 327-335, 2007.

2007

Michelle Decoux Hampton is scheduled to present a poster presentation on “Disparities in Mental Health Service Utilization among African Americans with Severe Mental Illness” at the 2007 International Society of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurses 9th Annual Conference, April 25 – 28, 2007 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Additionally, Michelle and Marcus Miller were married on October 21, 2006 in San Francisco, CA. They were attended by their two children Chloe, age 8 and Marcus, Jr., age 10.
