Alice Ball Britt is a Clinical Specialist in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and is certified by The Consortium of Chemical Dependency Nurses as a chemical dependency nurse. She presently holds a position as Director of Medical Services in the Mental Health Department of Lutheran Social Services of The National Capital Area. Ms. Britt was accepted as a fellow of the Ethnic Minority Fellowship Program of the American Nurses Association in July 2000. Ms. Britt is a doctoral candidate at The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Her interest in working with vulnerable and minority populations influenced her dissertation topic, which is “The Relationship Among Self-Efficacy, Spirituality, and Social Support in the Recovery of Substance Abusers.” Ms. Britt is an active member of the Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society as well as an active member of the District of Columbia Nurses Association, Inc.
