Bretney Massenburge

Bretney Massenburge MBA, BSN, RN, is a second-year Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) student at Walden University School of Nursing. Since graduating in 2014 with her BSN, Ms. Massenburge has gained experience in many sub-specialties in mental health. Currently, Ms. Massenburge is a clinical adjunct instructor at her alma mater, the University of Texas at Tyler, and works at the University of Texas Health Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinic.

Ms. Massenburge has been a charge nurse for four years within the UT Health System. She is one of the founding employees of the psychiatric wing established at UT Northeast in 2013. She worked with residential, acute adult, and geriatric populations during this tenure. In 2016, Ms. Massenburge furthered her career goals by earning a Master’s in Business Management Healthcare at UT Tyler. Upon graduating as a PMHNP in May 2020, Ms. Massenburge plans to focus on providing healthcare for populations living in rural areas

Ms. Massenburge serves as an active youth advocate and youth pastor to inner-city youth. She is the founder of Soldiers in Christ Mentor Alliance which serves youth and young adults ages 0-21 in the East Texas Region which she has done for 16 years. Ms. Massenburge is not only actively working in her home church and community, but also has a substantial role on the national level serving as the Vice President of the Texas State Council Young Peoples Union. She also is a member of several other organizations including Faith Nation Ministries, East Texas Human Needs Network, Texas Nurses Association, and Touching Lives Enrichment Center 501 ©(3) non-profit organization.
