  • The SAMHSA MFP/ANA grant will offer the lowest air fare to a MFP/ANA sponsored education offering, such as the Intensive Training Institutes. Travelers, who choose a higher air fare for non-stop or other conveniences, will be responsible for the difference in cost. However, there may be some extenuating circumstances that the Office of the MFP/ANA will consider on an individual basis.

  • The SAMHSA MFP grant only pays the expenses related to Fellow’s training; therefore, if you plan to bring your family or guest, the cost associated with their logistics is at the expense of the traveler, not the SAMHSA MFP grant.

  • ANA’s Direct Travel agency is authorized to only book MFP Fellows flights to Honolulu at the expense of the SAMHSA MFP grant. Family members or guests attending the 2020 ITI with you are responsible for booking their own flights at their expense.

  • Travel at the expense of the SAMHSA MFP grant is “Coach/Main Cabin” only.

  • A book of rooms have been reserved for Fellows at the Hyatt Waikiki to be charged to the MFP master account for the nights of March 17 through the night of March 21.  You are responsible for your lodging and associated costs for any nights you  stay outside those dates.

  • Tuesday, March 17, is considered a travel day allowing Fellows to arrive in Honolulu and get acclimated to the time zone. The Fellow’s training sessions will begin promptly at 9:00am on Wednesday, March 18.

  • There is no charge for children 18 years of age and under sharing the same room as the Fellow and using existing bedding, but there will be a charge of $50 for any third additional adult 19 years of age or older in a room. The maximum number of persons per room is four. The cost of any additional adults above three in a room reserved for a Fellow will not be charged to the MFP master account.  The traveler will be responsible for the cost at check out.

  • The SAMHSA MFP grant only pays for room and tax; the Fellow will be charged for any miscellaneous expenses at check out.

  • The Hyatt Regency  Waikiki check-in time is 3:00pm and check out is 11:00am.

  • Any guests or family member planning to participate in any of the 2020 ITI educational sessions and/or community engagement activities must register as a guest. Space is limited; therefore, guests and/or family members participation is dependent upon space availability.

  • The SAMHSA MFP grant only pays for Fellow’s meals; thus all guests and family members are responsible for their own meals.

  • The $4,000 pre-populated on each Fellows PHS2271 Statement of Training Appointment form is the estimated cost for each MFP/ANA Fellow’s additional behavioral health and career development educational offering. These monies are not to be used at the discretion of the Fellow, but are applied to offset the cost of each Fellow’s participation in the MFP/ANA Intensive Training Institute (ITI), including roundtrip air fare; lodging+ plus taxes + resort fee x 5 nights; 3 meals per day x 5 days; opening reception food; box lunches-to-go; local round trip ground transportation; and the round trip ground transportation to the host cities multiple community engagement activities. These are just a few of the costs associated with MFP/ANA Fellow’s learning experience during the MFP/ANA ITI.
