Precious Barnes, RN, MSN, CNOR, graduated from MFP-Youth in 2016 and is among the inaugural cohort. While a MFP-Youth Fellow, she was a full-time Nurse Practitioner student at The University of Alabama with a focus in Family Medicine (FNP) and Primary Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She obtained her Associate Degree of Nursing at Wallace Community College in Dothan, AL, in May 2009, and went on to obtain her Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing at Auburn University at Montgomery in 2013.
Ms. Barnes has experience in Cardiac Care Rehabilitation, and Surgery and has been an RN for 8 years at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. She has served as the General/Vascular/Bariatric Team Leader prior to acceptance into the Nurse Practitioner program.
Ms. Barnes is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Wiregrass Nurse Practitioner Association, and The Honors Society. She has a strong interest in mental health and it’s relation to physical health and wellbeing and aspires to open her own practice that can better serve rural populations.
