Rosa Cruz Kauffman, MSN, RN, currently is in her last year, pursuing a Masters of Science at the University of Colorado Denver to become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She earned her BSN at Georgia State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Upon graduation, she hopes to work with both, youth substance abuse and youth LGBTQ populations, with a special interest in the minority population within these groups. She is a native Spanish speaker and will use this skill to reach the local underserved Spanish speaking community. Her experience includes work in the cardiovascular surgical intensive care unit (CVICU) and inpatient acute psychiatry. Currently she works as part of a Crisis Stabilization Unit and teaches Spanish at a local Charter school.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA).
