Evana Yates

Evana Yates, MSN, ACNP-BC is in the second year of pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a PMHNP Post-Master’s certificate at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Her research will focus on integrating behavioral health into primary care with a focus on underserved rural communities. She has a specific interest in the neurobiology of mental disorders, effects of trauma, and implications for suicide.

Her desire is to decrease health disparities and improve health outcomes for minority populations. Mrs. Yates has extensive acute care nursing experience and neurologic expertise in providing care for hospitalized patients in Nashville, TN.

She has spearheaded educational seminars and support groups for individuals experiencing trauma and loss. Additionally, she provides mentorship for young women for personal and professional empowerment. Moreover, she practices as a sexual assault forensic nurse and strives to decrease violence against women. Mrs. Yates is a Cal Turner Moral Leadership Fellow and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Now Challenge recipient. She is a member of the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, American Epilepsy Society, Society of Critical Care Medicine, Sigma Theta Tau International, and International Association of Forensic Nurses. She is passionate about community service and spends countless hours volunteering with Second Harvest Food Bank and Churches of Christ Disaster Relief.
