Theresa Moore, MSN, RN, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with plans upon graduation to pursue a PhD in Nursing. Her phenomenon of interest is identifying barriers in access to care for transient people of color in need of mental health and/or substance use disorder (SUD) services. Currently, she provides behavioral health and SUD services in an outpatient community health center located in Puyallup, WA.
As a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Mrs. Moore provides person centered care to patients with severe mental illnesses, using community resources and various support networks to strengthen their functioning and reducing the hospital recidivism.
Mrs. Moore is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the California State Nurses Association, the Hawaii State Nurses Association and serves as Secretary of the DNP Student Diversity Group at Vanderbilt University. Additionally, she is a dedicated military spouse and mother of an active nine-year-old son.
