Jovon Caldwell Taylor, MSN-ED, RN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is currently a fourth year PhD nursing student at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Her research interest is in understanding the protective factors in substance abuse abstinence among African American male survivors of childhood abuse. She is currently employed as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in metro Atlanta where she collaborates with her team to provide diagnostic, medication management, and psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and adults with behavioral health concerns.
Mrs. Taylor obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Asheville, North Carolina. She later attended Walden University where she completed her Bachelor and graduate coursework, earning her Master of Science in Nursing Education. She became a nurse educator and Assistant Professor where she assisted associate and bachelor’s degree nursing students with acquiring their entry-level nursing degrees and continued nursing education. After pursuing her passion as a nurse educator, Mrs. Taylor earned a second master’s degree in nursing from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
She is a member of several registered nursing and advanced practice nursing organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.
