April C. Bradshaw, RN, has worked in psychiatric nursing for nearly ten years with Veterans, children, and adolescents. For as long as she can remember she has had a passion for education, learning, and the power of one’s mind to overcome tremendous obstacles. This is why she loves research, and why she chose to get her degrees in psychology and in nursing. The discipline of nursing allows her to combine the desire to learn about the mind, with the ability to treat and empower others. Presently, Ms. Bradshaw is partnering with an organization whose emphasis is on empowering young men and women who have mental illness and/or have been the victims of abuse. This organization partners with community organizations to provide support and mentors for young men and women that have faced these challenges.
She is honored to have been chosen to be an MFP-Y Fellow and is looking forward to the knowledge and support she will gain by being a part of such an amazing group of people.
